This comes after intro. It's been a week now and I've just been in my room...trying to play the guitar. Lance has come by everyday to visit me and Lauraine just told me to suck it up. She says I just got work with what I got. I played another violent chord on my guitar. *BOING* *Snap* OW! "Great now I have to get a new e string and eye." I said exasperated. There was a knock at my room door. "Come in!" I called. "Oh hey mom..." "Hey sweetie." she said serenely. She sat down on the bed next to me and took my hands in hers. "Don't worry darling, when your senior year starts in November you'll still be attending Bolivantic Academy." "Mom, I can't--" I started. "Yes you can and you will!" she said losing her cool. "I own this school! I practically own this bloody world! You will be attending!" Mom could lose her cool sometimes. She was really sweet, but pissing her off would be a huge mistake. "What classes do you expect me to take mom...Home Economics? This isn't going to work." I continued. "Listen to me. I can't explain what happened on your birthday or what didn't happen, but you are not human. Someone would've been able to tell before this...and besides the certificate that came with you was authorized in a immortal hospital." "Ok mom, whatever you say." She gave me a quick kiss on the forehead then left. 2 minutes later Lance was in my room. "Hey Ray." he said, giving me a kiss "She's in denial!" I exclaimed, referring to my mother. "She's making me go to school." "Well, no complaints here." he said relieved. "This means I still get to see you." "Are you crazy?!" I gasped in disbelief. "It's like a sin to be with a human. I'd be considered your little lapdog...and--" "Listen I love you and I don't care wh-" "NO!" I yelled. "Everyone's gonna think you're dirt. Your parents would have a fit...they'd kill me if I wasn't the daughter of Natalie and Marques." "Well let's just be happy you are." he said in a light tone...This was not something to be taken lightly. "You-" I didn't get to finish my sentence because he kissed me again this time deeper than before. I pulled away too early for his liking. "Natalie and Marques can pop in at moment." I muttered, mind kinda cloudy. Lance nodded in understanding. I flipped on the flat screen plasma to the left of my bed. I laid down and Lance molded himself behind me, propped up on an elbow, his other hand resting on my waist. He played with my hair every now and then and my heart sank when I thought of the night of my birthday. When everyone realized I was just human, I couldn't even look at him. His grip on my shoulder just tightened and then he just let it drop. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Marques let out an unnecessarily loud throat clear at my door. "Daddy!" I said startled, realizing that Lance's once innocent hand was messaging my leg. He shot up. "Hello, Mr. Bolivantic." he said formally. "Good afternoon Mr. Shepard." dad said sternly. Oh great, he was using formalities. Just call him Lance! "Your mother and I will be gone for an indefinite amount of time to Russia and I'm beginning to think that Matthew should stay here with you and Lauraine." he gave Lance an evil look. I got a little scared. I mean Daddy could just take his head off...no questions asked. "No need for Uncle Matt Dad." I said inching a little bit farther away from Lance. "You can trust us." My dad was still staring Lance down. He let out a low humph and said "Fine. Well I'll be visiting the Ishloviks in Russia. They own quite a few attractive settlements that I have my eye on." I was never quite sure why Dad told me all of this. I mean I don't give a damn about any settlements. "Ok Dad." I said. He nodded and left. Lance left shortly after giving me one lingering kiss goodbye.
