Behind The Mask

...

Restless nights after exhausting days,

pain lingers in shadow and light,

bloody blurs when fading away,

dark spots dancing in a blinding flash,

wet, mascara colored streams,

painted smile on a marble face,

emptiness screams into deaf ears,

feeble hands shaking in agony,

hysterical laughter meets desperate cries,

a thousand needles poking the guts,

hiding the pain behind a smile ...

... there will be release ...

a voice, taking away the worst,

words, like drops on a hot stone,

yet greedy absorbing each single sound,

holding on to every word ...

until release comes from a touch.
