As I watched my old mother as she lay

I couldn't believe she looked that way

Waiting for the eternal light

In the twilight of her last night

She'd lost her troubled haggard look

Something like a miracle had struck

Serene Peace shone from her face

Changes had began to take place

There before my very eyes

Her spirit began to rise

Floating in time and space

She looked me right in the face

Paused for a while gave a warm smile

As  before I just stare in awe

Dazed amazed at what I saw

She then again started to move again

Twirling and swirling around my ears

Hurling furling away the years

Then she seemed to disappear

Only for then my mother to reappear

As  she was as a young girl so it appeared

I couldn't speak trying to hold back tears

As she came towards me I felt no fear

Then her voice perfectly clear

Though no sound could I hear

She held my hand as she said "dear"

Messages the same permeated my brain

"There's no need for tears my dear

I'm not gone I'll  forever be near

I'll always reside right here  by your side"

Then as she started to stroke my head

I'm certain she again silently said

You no longer need cry

My body is ready now to die

I'll no longer feel pain, I'll forever be the same
Be happy for me I no longer feel trapped

My freedom is real at long last

Then as I was wiping my eyes dry

I heard the whispered word goodbye

Then my mother gave her last sigh

As her spirit floated away up high

Very, very touching, Violet. I've heard of similar accounts from other people who lost their parents. One thing they talk about is the unexplainable peace. Death is one inescapable fact of life, it makes me wonder if we need to study it closely.

. . . by this, Violet. As Mia says above, it is extraordinary how shared this experience is. I had a similar experience when my mother died, oh, and my father 10 years before - strange, but wonderful in the most peculiar way.
