Children

Round and around like a merry go round

The arguments stay the same

They refuse to shape up or ship out

All they say we do is complain to them it all a game

They think we spoil their fun

Telling them It's their washing left in the drum

That It's their ironing that waits undone

They what me under thumb

Just to serve not to live

They just take never give

I've had about enough

My children PISS me off

Violet - are they children or adults? If they are adults then, like the rest of the animal world do, you should kick them out of the nest to care for themselves. A gentle nudge and if that doesn't work, then a shove is the answer to this.

You're making them too comfortable, that's the problem. Put the rent up and stop the washing and cooking.

As I am 51 going on 10, I can see both sides.

Being cruel to kind must be an icredibly difficult approach for a mother to take, though Josie implies it's a breeze!

The Mrs Rachman (?) of Ilkley . . .

I found the last line so funny. Where I come from, children live with their parents until they get married. So adult children tend to mature a little late in my opinion. But then we have the duty to look after our parents in their old age, so they reap the benefits later in life.
