Innocent Lust

Child your lust for life

Is just without doubt

So pure and innocent

The best about

The way you welcome

Each new day

Lighting up my world

When we play

Thrusting the years away

Today we jumped rope

You're no dope you held my coat

While you got this old goat

Twisting skipping clowning about

There no time for frowning

When your around

You deliver so much fun

It keeps me young

Childish lust for life is so soon gone

Ageing is so wrong

Lust for Life!
Written by Katanga (1537 comments posted) 19th August 2008
'Lust' is a dangerous word because of all the adult sexual connotation.

The innocent, energetic enthusiasm for life shown by children before they become jaded by adult cares - I think you've portrayed this really well.

Cheers!

Our lust for writing

I am so glad you changed your poem Violet. Yes, the lust for life is good for both young and old. My lust poem concerns a lust for power and money (see below Mr Mustav That). Many people are ruined by that too. I think your poem would benefit from being put into clear verses Violet, outlining the various things each within a separate verse. It makes it easier to read. Well done. I guess we have a lust for writing. ha ha and you are coming on so well with yours, improving every day. Well done.

And lust is a dangerous word because Josie is busy with the seven sins ;-) But you're absolutely right here. What a coincidence that I just wrote on the subject of your last line too (although in a totally different context). Nice poem.

Yes, I totally agree with John on this poem.

Good one.

Hi meadowcroft,

how lovely this is! The innocence of childhood is so refreshing in this piece and the joy it brings, (to a grandparent I suspect), is tangible in every word.

A lovely way of using the theme of "lust."

I enjoyed thi very much,

Pamx
