Its always the quiet ones

It was a dark and rather chilly night
a man was walking...
a face of white

His tears were lost amongst the rain
no one else noticed...
he was in pain

Everyone began to feel a sharp twinge in their back
they began to feel faint...
everything went black

The man of the pale face still stood
the rain became heavy...
he turned up his hood

His smile was lost amongst the rain
no one else noticed...
he was insane

I thought he was going to turn out to be Death.
Was he a mass murderer? I wasn't too sure.
The first line of the third verse felt a bit too long.
cheers

Interesting structure. It might be a lack of imagination on my part, but I can't link back pain, feeling faint and the insane man.

I think I might know this man...Then again I might not.
