It hurts
Surely it does
As we part ways
To walk in two different directions
Far away from each other
So what if we were once together…
Life seems so meaningless
Without you in my life
And vice-versa
The truth is killing us softly
As pain lingers in our hearts
Days turn into weeks
Once so lively and jovial
Life suddenly turns blue
Tears roll down the cheeks
Kissing softly those soft lips
Once desirable and always wanting
Now it is dry, parched with cracks
Empty walls making fun
Solitude’s grips tightening
Eyes searching
Yearning for your loving arms
As heart gives up all hope
It hurts to lose you forever my love…

Amazing piece. Very serious tone as required for a topic like this. OA |

| Break-up is a very serious topic but it is also a wonderful experience as SEASONS reflects... |

| The content is something I'm sure almost every reader, regardless of sex or sexual preference, can relate to, it just seems that this piece lacks real passion - to me it does not reflect 'hurt' but pity. |

Johnny - a heartfelt piece indeed, But I don't understand what you mean above when you say, 'Break-up . . . is also a wonderful experience as SEASONS reflects'. I have been though many break-ups - not one of them has been 'wonderful' in any (even stretched) sense of the word. Mundane, painful and dream-destroying are how I would describe my own. Please elaborate / elucidate your point. Cheers! John X |

. . . ' truth is killing us softly' just doesn't work for me because of the Roberta Flack song. It's a great line, but now looks like a pinch . . . Cheers again! John X |

Thank you John for making me to write about various points that made you to think about the poem. 'Break-up...is also a wonderful experience as SEASONS reflects.' - If you read my poem SEASONS, you will understand the significance of the sentence. So do read SEASONS to let me know further... We do share or shall I say many of us do share this truth of multiple break-ups in our lives... I am a very positive person by nature when I look at life from a higher level. For me, life is beautiful irrespective of all the hardships and break-ups. Have you ever loved a girl with true intention and real emotions to see her always happy in life, irrespective of whether she is with you or else someone better than you? If your answer is 'YES' then you will understand the context as to why I said the above mentioned line. Johnny D |

Yes, break-ups are very painful experience in one's life because I have also faced many break-ups in my life. However, each one of them made me much more richer and a good human being. They made me stronger as a person and gave me courage to spread love more, share, give and care for my girlfriends. Even if for once instance you feel HATRED towards your girlfriend, that means you never loved her truly in the first place... so why you two should be together to make life miserable for each other? As you settle down or come out of break-up syndrome, you tend to smile and many a times cry reminiscing all those beautiful moments you have shared with your loved ones. Isn't this a wonderful feeling John? Ask yourself when you are alone to search for this answer... Johnny D |

I have enjoyed all my love affairs, depressed by break-ups to come out with the wonderful thing that my girlfriends taught me in life. We all know, nothing lasts forever like seasons... why not enjoy the wonderful things of life by experiencing the better side of life... "Truth is killing us softly.' - I know the song still haunts all the die-hard fans of break-ups... However, the BITTER TRUTH about separation do kill us softly, slowly and steadily till we recover from it. Isn't it John? It has a deep meaning attached to the line... I do hope you will enjoy SEASONS... Take care! Johnny D |
