D is for Dolphin
Written by fellpony

Now D is for Dolphin, who swims in the sea
And smiles as he dives in the blue,
But he comes to the surface quite regularly
Cos he has to breathe air just like you.

He curves through the water and swims with the boats,
He often brings brothers as well;
They chatter by clicking on different notes
So they must have a story to tell.

Perhaps it’s a story of travels at sea
And meeting a shark or a whale,
But Dolphin won’t tell us his story, for he
And his fellows live inside the tale.

The happiest stories, you don’t want to end,
And Dolphin likes living in style,
So next time you meet with the Dolphin, my friend,
You’ll know why his face wears a smile.

Whooooooer!

Incredible! Sue, you must have banged this out in the last few minutes? I am dead impressed.

It is light and entertaining - kids will love it - but it has deep profundity it its depths to boot!

My favourite lines:

'Bur Dolphin won't tell us his story, for he
And his fellows live inside the tale'

Magical! Wow!

Please give us some more children's poems!

Joanna needs some about mythical creatures - especially goblins, bit pixies, unicorns, elves, the Loch Ness Monster - any will do. . .

In awe and admiration . . .

Beers!

Dolphins are magical - seen them in Scotland once, never forgotten. Lovely poem.

This piece of work , unlike so many clumsy attempts at children's poetry , has all the easy , smooth grace of the dolphin itself .

As I said , I am greenly envious .
