A poem about hate, love and forgiveness.

At once the world crumbled at my feet
For a second I lost sight of my other half
Forever it took me to realize what I was
I am only one-third without you.

You use to sing me to sleep
I use to hold you close in slumber
But the fire pulled us apart
I ripped us to shreds.

I was caught up in the scene
Hopped on the band wagon
Without a second thought
I hated to admit I missed you.

When I returned home you were there
You changed, you were whole
Not broken in pieces like when I found you
You were so different.

The smile was the same
But not as rare as it use to be
You were so happy...
Without me.

But when I looked into your eyes
I saw the hurt and longing that was there
You didn't forget me
I could never forget you.

My love I am sorry
So sorry for the hurt and lies
So sorry for I all I've done
Can you forgive me?

I'm not sure if it classifies as poetry, but it had some nice metaphors. People who are in love do silly things. Eventually they'll get over it though and wonder why they ever made such a fuss...
