Spiders
By Katanga

A feeble experiment - 10 lines, building from one syllable to ten syllables.

A true story - the other night I had to drive to work to de-activate the burglar alarm where I work at 3.30 a.m.

The engineer came and diagnosed that a tiny spider had wandered in front of the wretched beam, detonating chaos.

A bit of annoyed fun!

Cheers!

Spiders

Me?
I hate
spiders. . . . and
not because they
crawl upon my skin,
but because one came in,
chose to take a morning walk,
to shatter my profound deep sleep.
Incy-Wincy spider meant no harm,
when she set off my bloody school's alarm.

Rural Pumps

In the Oz bush at Kempsey , my big Lowara pump down at the dam sometimes would not start--because of spiders as in your case.

But then it would often roar into life -- hurling small bodies and clay everywhere -- since the mudwasps loved to build in it and deposit small corpses therein

It was a case of Everybody duck !!

Thank you Brian!

I think your review above justifies a piece in its own right!

Really!

Beers!

And now sleep . . .

John, Spiders are a necessary nuisance. I love your spiders as I can see the little sweeties in the alarm system. I can relate to this episode very well. I was once the maintenance man for about 70 schools spread out over 100 x 50 miles. And yes, I did have those sort of happenings. @0 years later it will be a funny memory.
I quite like the structure of the poem too. !0 lines, 1 syllable to 10 syllables. Very good.

Cheers

The spider inspired an excellent poem if nothing else, let's hope they've moved on.

No wonder you were tired,

sleep well, Pamx
