The Wedding- The Lady Part 4

His gaze could not meet hers
He glanced upon the solemn brow
Looking away, he said "I'm sorry."
She said, "It doesn't matter now."

His hand shook but he didn't move
"What," he asked, "are you going to do?"
She smirked at him, it was a mask
Her eyes said "I'm glad you asked."

But he didn't care, and she walked away
A nervous bride who'd been betrayed
When her man in black stabbed her in her sleep
Her ghost returned and made him weep.
