Drinking Limerick
By Katanga
13 September 2008

In the days when men sported jerkins
some ladies wore feather-soft merkins
'cos their muffs had been waxed -
it's just one of those facts
I ponder when I've drunk a few firkins.

Ah...the wanderings and wonderings of an alcohol fuelled mind. Made me snigger - which says as much about me as the piece does about the writer! ;)

Ah but they were not waxed! Which gave John Ruskin such a shock on his wedding night after looking at all that hairless art! There's a poem there somewhere...
Merkin!

One of George W Bush's favourite words, as in "I'm proud to be a merkin." Quite apt for someone named Bush!

Nice Limerick, John.
Cheers
