Silent Hills
By grace
14 September 2008

Sentinals of peace,

secrets rich,

I come to you my green friends

and wrap your hills around me,

blanket warm.

Silence bears my words and

your reply.

'neath temperate skys of blue and gold

or sheltered from the gale,

all is quiet.

Troubles ease,

calm restored,

wisdom flies on ancient wings,

timeless echoes counsel,

all is well. . .

and when I leave,

a part of me shall stay,

in every blade of grass and lofty view,

in valleys deep and chiselled ridge,

I will remain.

. . . especially your ending, Pam, if you'll forgive the pun!

Where are all the other reviewers?

I think this deserves more than to be left alone!

Cheers!

Thank you so much for keeping it company John, I had accepted its awfulness. :)

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, thank you again,

Pamx :)

I think I missed this when it was posted. So thanks for reviewing it, Tolstoy.

I like this, Pam, the serenity you feel really comes through, reminding me of many of my own favourite walks when I feel the need to escape with the dogs.

Agree with John (particularly your final three lines) good ending.

Cheers
