GW Song

I'm home alone without my poet's spectacles . . .
Can't see a thing - I must be going blind.
Were I an octopus with eight long tentacles,
Might I be happier? Oh well, never mind . . .

I peer at verse that pops up willy-nilly,
as if computers vie for 'Poet Laureate'.
Not understanding much of it, I'm silly,
still wondering what the hell we worry at.

Should I now take a break from what I do,
restrain my Muse, give her a holiday,
shove myself, a boot into a shoe?
Or do you think she has some more to say?

I'm tempted by the words that rhyme with 'dawn',
but find no metre, just iambic porn.

I like this. It's a send -up of the smutty period on GW. Surely your muse can rise to greater heights.
I still like it.

Cheers
