Full Moon Tide
By espejo
28 January 2006

Inspired by a thrilling and eye-opening performance of beautiful music.

You're an unsuspecting stranger,
Utterly oblivious to your greatest deed--
the imprints you created
in the tender soil of my injured soul,
made deeper with every pulsing beat.
Each note, accompanied wildly
with furrowed brow and deep-drawn breath,
nudges this stranger out of my skin,
and I can emerge from the shroud of doubt.
The weight of my insecurities lifts
with the overwhelming flood of memories
that you, the full moon,
have pushed over my heart like the tide.
The stone barrier has eroded completely
and the flood consumes me,
pushing the missing back to her home
and sucking the intruder out of my body.
My love restored.

this piece reminds me so much of what it feels like to play for the pleasure of it, and nothing else. if you are a 'musician' and you feel these thigns inside you, playing can be such a release.

this is gorgeous, inspired :)
