Gridlock
28 January 2006

Who knew that writer's block could inspire a piece of writing?

Words won't work.
My dearest friends,
and most loathsome enemies
fuel my soul and carry its defeat.

The path is obstructed
by my cholesterol thoughts,
gridlock concerns,
clogged sewer of a life.

My mind craves a detour:
A road less traveled
or more picturesque,
a change in pace-
not the same old Cheerios.

Mm! I can relate!
Very original yet it's a common feeling.
I like how you capture the feeling that writer's block is more than just a temporary struggle for literary expression - it seems sometimes to attack your entire being!
I love your poem!

Thank you.
