We are part of nature but also have a conscious brain, most of the time.

Because we have a brain, we sometimes forget we are part of nature.

Because we are part of nature, we sometimes forget we have a brain.

Is the brain conscious or is consciousness a consequence of having a brain? 
 
Thought provoking stuff, not sure about the last line though.
