Hiccoughs
By Katanga
16 May 2009
A light-hearted villanellic whimsy, inspired by Wendycat's must-see poem 'Pins and Needles', posted yesterday, 15th May.

If this raises half a smile and / or takes you to Wendy's poem, job done!

Cheers All! John X

Hiccoughs

You make me laugh so much, I don't know how
you do it. Everything you say's hilarious.
Oh no! I've got the bloody hiccoughs now.

The pain! The pain! God's truth, his holy cow!
My sanity's on edge, it's most precarious.
You make me laugh so much, I don't know how.

With stomach cramps, I clutch my fevered brow
and concentrate on death and what-all, various.
Oh no! I've got the bloody hiccoughs now.

I'll never crack again, I promise, vow
to always take you straight, be ever serious.
You make me laugh so much, I don't know how.

I don't intend to start another row,
but feel your thoughtless, heinous crime's nefarious.
Oh no! I've got the bloody hiccoughs now.

I'll exit from this stage and take a bow
and think of when the ferryman will ferry us.
You make me laugh so much, I don't know how.
Oh no! I've got the bloody hiccoughs now.

Some clever 'b' rhymes in this - 'nefarious' is a lovely word.

Nice and light but of humour - I need it!

Cheers

I also like the word nefarious, a very clever rhyme.

It's a good job you are here to lighten the boards! A smashing bit of light hearted, cheeky rhymed fun.

I also liked 'and think of when the ferryman will ferry us'
ferry us/nafarious-great rhyme

Very much enjoyed.

Perfidy! We have started agreeing, this is tantamount to nepotism - a full conspiracy theory must be indulged straight away. I'm waiting for you, Eric.

Apologies, John.

. . . Commission will be onto us soon!

Synchronised aesthetic positive comment fixing?

My goodness, it's freezing out the competition.

What we need is cheaper comments for all!

A fair review for a fair poem!

Bring on the revolution!

Yo, slap up my bitch, John
