Make of this what you will. It was written at the time BBC Get Writing was closing the doors to it's community. I will echo thee by spiderbaby
A simple thing, a word, but yet that it has power enough to make heed seven times seventy souls who needs must bend their ears to it's dark majesty and if, and when, the letters form, take shape upon thy mouth with soundless mime or roar of public pain, so I will echo thee. Mine ear shall catch this word, e'en if inside, my heart denies it's barb. Thus, once tasted, bitter on my tongue, I roll it round and forming it anew, I call it back to thee. Goodbye

There were a lot of friendships forged there, and losing that community was a bitter pill for many. Spidey - really nice, although even I'd say the tone is a tad grandiose for the subject matter. That said, I guess it has universal appeal as a piece about reluctant goodbyes. | Oooh silly me - sorry Written by Betsie (30 comments posted) 15th April 2005 | Yes, I didn't quite know what you were saying but as a poem - nicely done. One more little comment - I'm not keen on 'old style language' being used today. But that's a personal thing. Well done anyway. | Hey, that's ok Written by spiderbaby49 (137 comments posted) 15th April 2005 | Betsie..thanks for giving it a read an making a comment and thank you to Ed for the explanation. spidey |
