After going to see "Cats", my 11-y-o daughter asked me:
"Daddy, what happens to Grisabella AFTER she goes up to the Heavyside Layer?"

I had to admit, I never thought about it until now ..... with apologies to TS Eliot AND Mr. Lloyd - Webber .....

Grisabella's Triumph

Start: traditional (slow) blues,  ♪  =  60
You must have heard about Grisabella
The cat who suffered terrible strife
How she went up to the Russell Hotel and
Stepped into a much better (Jellicle) life
 Well: now   she's     molto rall

up tempo  ♪ = 96
Back again, sassing all the toms in town, oh yes I'm
Back again, with my new and sexy gown and I'll be
Good - maybe! - if it pays and if I want to
Be your sweet baby - sure, I'll stay till I get tired of you
Say, Deuteronomy! I'm gonna have a ball
I've been up Heavyside, now I've seen and done it all
Mister Mistoffolees, your magic's cheap and you don't faze me
Now I know just how you do those tricks, they don't amaze me!
 MungoJerry, Rumpleteezer, Skimbleshanks, Bombollerina
Everybody, look at me: I'm just drop-dead-gorgeous, see?

slower tempo  ♪ = 80+/-  [high kicks routine]
I have got - a fresh bite at the cherry
Gonna go to town, eat, drink and be merry
And even Rum Tum Tugger -  will  look like a miserable CAT [pause]
‘cause Grisabella's back in town .......... And that's THAT!

Definitely song lyrics - too many cliches for a poem

...as usual. Never seen Cats. And yes, more like lyrics to a song. I can almost here the tune.

I thought I would go back and look at some of your work before I started on the site. I really like this. But of course the fact its a take off on Andrew Lloyd Webber's work made me a fan almost before I read it. But it is fun and definately a song.
Yes, Definitely a song
