..."So I was playing trampolining on your mummy"
"Trampolining, Like Uncle Peter does? He calls it bouncing"
"Sorry. Uncle Peter?Who's Uncle Peter"
"And Uncle Martin does it too. He says "bounce, bounce, bounce"
"What, he does this as well as your Uncle Peter?"
"Yes.Though not quite as well - Mummy says.
...So you're Uncle George?"
"No, I'm Harold"
"Oh, OK, I'll call you Uncle Harold"
LATER that day
"Did you have a good day at school, Poppet?"
"Yes, thanks Daddy."
"What was Mummy up to? I suppose she was entertaining her "Gentleman" friends? "
"Yes. She was. One of them was a new one. Uncle Harold. He called her a Trampoline"
"Don't you mean a Tramp Pet?"
"Oh no Daddy, a trampet is a baby trampoline, you use it to get on to a big trampoline."
LATER that day
"So when were you going to tell me about the others?"
"Others?"
"Your other gentleman friends?"
"Oh shut up Harold"
LATER that day
"Uncle Harold, what's that between your legs?"
"Your mummy"
The NEXT day
"Did you have a good day at school, Poppet?"
"Yes, thanks Daddy. Daddy - is Mummy religious"
"No, not particularly. Why do you ask? "
"It's just that last night I heard her call out "Oh my God, I'm coming" "

Written by alliepally (17 comments posted) 3rd July 2009 | hmm!! inventive! Love the pun on tramp pet and trampet, made me laugh. Some of it confused me: ""Yes.Though not quite as well - Mummy says. ...So you're Uncle George?" "No, I'm Harold" " and... "Uncle Harold, what's that between your legs?" "Your mummy" I thought that Uncle Harold was the childs father? so I dont get why in this bit hes called uncle harold? The last bit really pushes the boundaries. But I like it. Id love to see it written out as a short story from the childs point of view!

Obviously the kid's father should either spend more time with his wife, or seek another one with different hobbies. Well, at least he has a very handy spy. Indeed Uncle Harold seemed a bit odd, for reasons mentioned above. | Written by Phil (8763 comments posted) 3rd July 2009 | I liked the trampet lines but the rest was a little too close to a couple of old jokes that weren't that funny in the first place. Funny is odd though - could just be me. Sorry. Phil |
