Chapter 2 Training Of A Warrior

Tobias’ training was very complicated. It had to be complete within two days as the war was nearing. As the sun rised Tobias was learning the skills of sword fighting. Many times when he was supposed to parry he would thrust instead. As the people he battled got harder the better he got. He even learned to use his left hand well. He trained very hard for six hours straight when he was able to have a short break. “Hello Prince Tobias, the training seems to be going well,” commented Master Damian. “Thankyou Master Damian, it is tough but will be worth it when I can finally end this war” said Tobias. “ Well it takes more than one to build a city let alone end a war, may your training continue and the Gods give you strength. Farwell for now” and as Master Damian walked away the time for the educating had begun. After many hours of learning it was nightfall and Tobias was very tired. As he passed his fathers room to get to his he noticed his father reading a very old scroll. “It’s probably nothing” he muttered to himself. He slipped under the covers of his bed and shortly fell asleep.

“Failure death shall come because of you, you are a worthless leader, one who knows nothing, you shall bring shame to your father and your people, you will be chased out of town from groups with flaming torches. When you die your body will rot under the flaming sun and vultures shall eat your flesh.  M andras shall skin you and use it as clothing. Soulless worthless failure”

“Nooo!” Tobias sat up covered in sweat. “It was just a dream, luckily no one heard me scream” He took the glass of water on the table next to him and drank slowly. He stayed awake for the next two hours trying to figure out what magic he would learn. When the time came he went outside his room, down to the main courtyard. There the next instructor was waiting. “Good morning Master, I am ready to use magic”. “That is all well but is your mind ready to learn about it, is it ready to be pushed as far as it can go”  “Yes i am ready”. “ We will begin with the simple, yet effective, spell reading, create a spell by using our past language” instructed the Mage. “You mean Beiz Loschn?” questioned Tobias. “Yes now make one for making water rise, though it must have at least four words” “ Oifschtein Waser Oibn Pron!” yelled Tobias with force as he held his hand over water. “Now lift your hand,” instructed the Mage. As he lifted his hand a line of water followed, and when he had lifted his hand to eye level the line turned into a ball of water. “Good good, now make it move to the candle in the right hand corner” the Mage said. “ Rirn Ois Zu Rechz Rog” and as he said this the ball moved slowly towards the lit candle until it put the candle out.  “Good good” commented the Mage. They then learned all kinds of magic like hand pyro and thought magic until the Mage could teach no more. Tobias was to be rested as for tomorrow the becoming of a king.
