A little dedication

This is a light hearted dedication to BRN for all his reviews
I hope I'm not being unfair but it just how it seems to me
Thanks Brian

While reading poems I have got

An opinion poets are a funny lot

Their poems are put out for all to see

But they seldom return the courtesy

Of reviewing another colleagues  work

This seems a job they’d rather shirk

When you’ve read the review  you’ve been sent

It’s nice to return the compliment

Poets are the worst on all the web-sites I have been on, for reading and reviewing other people's work.

I once wrote a Poem about it, that went along these lines:

"Creative people, such as you and me,
Have this fault I glimpse, but cant clearly see.
Consumed by the desire to express through word.
Once thought through and finally written.
There is an aching desire to be heard,
That is far greater than any wish to listen."

I am very flattered but as much of the pleasure from being on this site is gained through reading the works and ideas of others as it is from getting their response to your work.

Brian.
Now you've done it!

He'll be unbearable, wandering round with a beatific smile. Rather like a mix of Mother Theresa, the Julie Andrew's Nun out of the Sound of Music and the Virgin Mary but not quite as worldly as any of them.

Ooops here he comes, I better get back in my box,

PS-I think you're great BBS ,don't waste yourself on BRN.

Hey all,
Nice poems, both of you.

Love to read something that pokes fun at the lot of us.
Wit and rhyme!

Well done!

Yours was a good poem too, and it came first. And between the two of you, you have probably managed to get a few more poems reviewed than would have been done normally.

You say you don't do poems...

...but this is a good start! Decent rhymes and nice and short. I completely agree - it seems to be us non-poets that review far more than 'real' poets. Though there are far more poems posted per minute than short stories, a lot to keep up with. :zzz

Hi,

I completely agree with you, and fully support this position.
You touched the interesting topic, and I truly regret nobody has thought of this before.

I think people who drive a pen are likely to meditate upon this.
Thasnk you for your wonderful poem, charming about its meaning, and perfectly constructed.

Best Wishes,
Nance.
