Pivotal Moments
By BrianRobertNeal
06 May 2006
A footnote to A half Span etc.

The first moment is when you admit,
That there were times, in the past,
Due to inexperience and youth
When you have been, a complete pratt.

The next moment of truth, is when you allow,
That even now, caught off-guard or relaxed,
You can still be a hopeless twatt.

The final moment's when you suddenly see,
You're ever to be like that.

Just older, no wiser, till exeat

Short and pithy

To paraphrase a famous quote "A little insight is a danger thing"
It's a short and pithy little poem with a strong message-Don't look back!
PS I took your advice with the monologue
cheers BBS
Thanks BBS

I toyed with a final one line verse.

Just older, no wiser, exeat.

Brian.
Short but true

Yes, I think we all feel exactly the same, but haven't yet put it into words. I am sure that if we all given a re-run of our lives, there would be changes, but we only know we've made the mistakes, sometimes, when we are too old to change them. Your poem is short, to the point, but carries a strong message. I liked it.
Thanks Josie

The last line was difficult as I needed rhyme for "at".
