I Could Have Been
By Ladybird
07 May 2006

I could have been the perfect baby,
If I'd kept my nappy clean.
Could have been the perfect toddler,
If I hadn't learned to scream.
Could have been the perfect child,
If I hadn't kicked the preacher.
Could have been the perfect pupil,
If I hadn't kicked the teacher.
I could have been the perfect typist,
If I'd known how to spell.
Could have been the perfect seller,
If I'd known how to sell.
I could have been the perfect wife,
If, I had been asked out.
Could have been the perfect mother,
If I'd known - how it came about!
I could have been a perfect anything,
If only I'd wanted to be.
But instead, I'm a perfect nobody,
What you get is what you see!
