I dont write poetry very often but i'm pleased with this, reading it back reminds me how far i've come and that everything will be alright. I am Lonely With the darkness closing in A desolate cloak surrounding me I am shrinking deep within I am lonely Drained and tired from the fight Not a ounce of passion left in me I just want to close my eyes I felt lonely When you walked out of my life You took my heart and soul with you I felt as if I’d died I felt lonely Trying to make it through each day It was easier to stay in bed Where my fears were kept at bay I’m not lonely Now I’m able to move on I found the strength inside of me Being me has made me strong I’m not lonely Even when I think of you My life is there ahead of me To myself I’m staying true I wont be lonely anymore I have myself to love One day when I am ready I’ll be sent an angel from above
