Once, not too long ago, a puppy was born. That puppy's name was Brody. When Brody was born and first saw his mother's face he was so happy that he closed his eyes and wished that he could stay this happy forever.
The next day Brody was adopted by a man and woman who seemed to be very excited about adopting him. The truth is, neither of them wanted or even liked dogs. They were only getting one because they each thought the other wanted one.
For two years Brody was tricked and teased by the couple. Brody was sick and tired of it so one day Brody planned an escape. The first step of his plan was to whine until they let him outside. Then after the man and woman fell asleep he dug a hole under the fence, and finally ran away to find his mother so he can be happy once again.
Brody traveled from town to town, for miles and miles, and for days and days. He got food from friends he made along the way. After seven days of looking, Brody finally found the house in which he was born. Brody ran to the house and immediately started scratching and barking at the door. When the door opened a man was standing in the doorway, a man Brody had never seen before. The man wanted nothing to do with Brody and shooed him away.
It was getting pretty late so Brody decided to spend the night at a friend's house. The next morning Brody thanked his friend and headed on his way. Brody was only three blocks away from his friend's house when out of the corner of his eye he noticed a familiar man and his dogs. Wait! Brody thought, that dog on the far left, it's my mom! Brody froze. He was really excited, the kind of excitement where you forget things. In this case Brody forgot to look both ways before crossing the street and... BAM. Brody had been hit by a car.
When Brody woke up he was in the hospital, and his mother was right beside him. She leaned over, rubbed her nose against his, licked his cheek, and barked.
After story information
Brody was released from the hospital five days after the accident. After that he and his mother made up for all the time they missed spending with each other. Brody ended up living with his mom until she passed away at the age of 121. (In dog years of course)
