you can't win 'em all

the editors

you know

their in-boxes are piled high

with work from hopefuls

and when they respond

it’s usually in the negative

but should a miracle happen

don't cheer too soon

over that acceptance letter

there is no cheque

just a complimentary issue.

Ah but when they've printed it, your a Published Author.

I've Vanity Published an Anthology, been included in a Writers' Group's Anthology and have had articles published in of all things the "Brewing Press".(A life time ago for the latter.)

But when it's in a "proper" journal, well. You know you're on your way. (Even though you had to run out and buy extra copies to give to friends and family!)

I've never dared send anything to such august authority.

What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger.

There is no such thing as a bad review.

The show must go on.

I could go on and on and on.
