Wrote this for Cynic Sid's competition. Since I've never written anything on Sci-Fi, and don't have the imagination to write more than 96 words on the subject, thought I'd take advantage of the short length of the contest rules and try something a little different... Number 96 took up position. Instant fire on keyboard, as twelve fingers flew in frantic flurry. The first letter to pop off was the ‘e’. No surprise there, he thought. The ‘n’ was next to go. Hmm, would’ve guessed ‘r’, he remarked to himself, slender digits smoothly sliding along. The white screen was already blanketed with little black letters. He raced onward, tack-tack-tacking from thought to screen, nerve synapses in his brain snapping and cracking, the electricity of creation. Then, climactic explosion. Digital literature. His coal-black eye scanned the text. Save. Post. Great Writing.
