Grand Surprise
By Tenchi
23 May 2006
A cheery little ditty from the standard phase that makes me write poetry.

Grand Surprise

I’ve grown accustomed to avoiding your eyes
Lest you should see what you’ve done to me
If chance should let you in ‘twill be no fault of mine
I will blame you for your deeds

Others have entered and thoughts of those corrode
They’ve left their mark in the doubts that erode
They haunt me with their lies and yet their truths taunt more
They had no less beauty than you, though none affected me so sore

So, no I will not meet your smile
Nor will I meet your eyes
When others liked me
'still went sour
They’ll be no grand surprise
