WIND FARMS -(TO THE TUNE OF INCHWORM)

Wind Farms Wind Farms
Pleasuring the Anoraks
you and your Euro-Subsidy
You'll take your backers far.

Wind Farms Wind Farms
Massacring flying life
Strange that such absurdity
Can cause such tragic harm

First step remission
From planning permision
Turning beauty into eyesore

That sweet sensation
From rural isolation
SHATTERED

By the Satanic roar

From

Wind Farms Wind Farms
Pleasuring the Anoraks
You and your Euro-Subsidy
You'll take your backers far.

I don't know the tune but I did like the structure of it. I thought it worked well. You've nailed your colours firmly to the mast here and I do take your point,I wonder if anyones ever written a poem about a neuclear power station, somehow I think not.
Thanks BBS

The Irish once put up a lot of metal poles in an area of the South West where thunder storms were often and violent. The aim was to capture the electricity!

The scheme failed miserably.

Think of it logically, we've had wind power for at least four thousand years , yet we've abandoned it.

On the other hand roads, were superseded by canals and then railways, and finally aeroplanes. Yet the road has made a comeback because it's basic premise was valid. Furthermore it was never totally abandonned and once motorised vehicles came along they came back with force.

Hydro-Electric Power based on gravity driven water seems to be the only cost effective enviro-friendly source of power.

The Wind Farms will not, without masive subsidy, cover their cost of construction and maintenance, but they seem a nice idea.

Thoughtful Sid.

Wind power tune?

I think wind power can be useful as an extra - but not a good reason to build wind factories.

Sue (whose view was going to include 27 315 foot turbines that got turned down - hey there's a visual image to play with... )
