The Great Writing Website

In terms of structure, content and craft this will no doubt cause true poets a great deal of anguish... i'm sorry.... it's just cynicsid said if i didn't post it here he would steal my packed lunch and give me a wedgie

Cyberspace..
There is nothing but darkness…
But wait, no, there is something..
Is that a lonely star, twinkling in the distance
I feel myself drawn inexorably to the light, my burden magically lightened
A great beacon of hope; beckoning, guiding weary authors, old and new, home where they belong..
The Great writing website. behold a mighty, self contained city
Teaming with (reasonably) civilised life forms
Where exists, a state of sweet symbiosis
In which predator and prey
Critic and creative
Live together
In hope

… until the Americans bomb it

I think we might have a winner. I haven't seen the word
"symbiosis" used in a long time, I like it and may try and shoe-horn it into a post
And anything that "will no doubt cause true poets a great deal of anguish" is ok with me, (actually I thougth that was their natural state)
Are you having an identity crisis?
Much love to you both

It was the ecology lesson at college that stirred me to slip in symbiosis - it was either that or dihybrid inheritance!

Simple and stunning!

I loved the line: 'lonely star, twinkling in the distance'. It made me think that somewhere on this site there could be the 'next big thing!'.

I really liked the polarity symbolism: 'predator/prey, critic/creative'.

I was drawn to this site, and for me it is a 'beacon of hope' so your words have inner power.

And like brook, I really thought the last line was totally fitting, resonating with what a lot of people feel. You've made something humourous and sad in equal measure.

Great writing...
