Find Yourself Wandering
By B.D.
31 May 2006
A friend had something that said "not all who wander are lost" so I used that as my inspiration for this poem...

they say that not all who wander are lost

if this is the truth

then what is the point in their lives

to explore? to find? to leave? get left behind?

wandering is pointless

but then I think and I think of myself

sometimes you can get caught in the shadows

or get sucked in

like you're stuck between the turning pages

sometimes you can just take the wrong turn

say the wrong word

and you'll find yourself wandering

so if you truly aren't lost when you wander

if that's really true

then why is it so bad to just once take a wrong turn?

It is also said - it is better to travel hopefully than to arrive.
You can only be lost if you know where you want to go and if you don't know where you are going how can it be a wrong turn (I can feel one of my migraines coming on now)

Ok I'm going to say that I did a bad job of trying to say what I was trying to say. In the first & second stanzas, I was just trying to understand the saying. In the third & fourth stanzas, I'm trying to say how you can just go where you didn't want to go. You know?? In the last stanza, I'm trying to say that if it's OK to wander and if you're not lost, then why is it so bad to make a mistake? Does that make sense??
