No Shooting Star

a love lost...

a heart tossed...

floating away

with the waves of a new day

a time spent...

many dreams lent...

but dreams go

like you did long ago

a smile remembered...

a heart surrendered...

and I wonder why

we had to say goobye

words unspoken...

a bond unbroken...

oh how I wish you knew

the love I keep inside for you

we walked away

with thoughts of a new day...

little did we know

we'd never see each other again

a lesson gained...

a heart pained...

still, no shooting star...

no telling how far apart we are

this is more like it!!! I think you write rhyming poems like this a lot better than your free verse, you have a rhythm, a structure and an understandable meaning in this one. More poems like this please! :)
love it

simple, emotional, but very effective. I've made pigs' ears of poems like this time and again but this is just right, well done!
