City Poem
By B.D.
02 June 2006
I wrote this on a day I was frustrated with living in one place for so long!! It's a poem dedicated to the city in which I live.

Rushing river

Meandering stream

These past years

have been a daydream

The things that have happened

I never imagined could come true

Every experience had a lesson

but you think it won't happen to you

The ups and the downs

have each had their share

The laughs and the frowns

reveal the heart that's there

Life by this river

sure has been fun,

but the time had come

for me to run

Mixed feelings are here

As much as I love all I'm use to,

I have to explore the world

and explore me, too

Some days I wanted to run away -

that's how bad it could be

Other days I wanted to always stay -

it's so conflicting!

I've had my portion

of good times and nice deeds

but time has passed and

this city can't satisfy my needs
