Wheel of Love - third turning

Nightscape

Beneath us now the sullen city sleeps.
Lie there , my love , together we will watch
and criticise a furtive moon that creeps
across a sky that morning soon will snatch.

Lie there, my love. the episode is over.
Only few soft whispers yet remain,
then we shall sleep, and let the darkness cover
the moment's pleasure and the lasting pain.

Only a few more hours , and we will leave
fewer than few bare threads of memory
and you will smile , but I perforce must grieve
to see the way this love will pass me by.

No more than this shall I remember , how your hair
loose-lying brown against the hue of flesh
tangled itself around my heart and there
Still holds me in its fine and silken mesh.

This poems stirs emotions in me so strong and deep, that I am still trying to define the words to describe them. Perhaps, it is better that I do not. Need know, that as I read this poem, I feel I am floating, suffused with energy.

You have encapsulated the art of poetry, and these poems in the 'Turning' series are, quite simply, magnificient!

with best wishes
