Recollection Reversals
I remember August and the rain,
the little pleasures wrested from the pain;
how we met and how we built our love
on a lovers' dialectic that can prove
that youth and love together can remove
Winter's fetters , letting none remain.
But now the Spring , with twisted mouth agape
singing like any slut of lust and rape
has beaten all our fancied dreams awry;
with probing fingers turns to peek and pry
into a love that once was proud and high
but now goes humble in its mourning crepe.

A wonderful finale! Written by mishmish (389 comments posted) 14th June 2006 | This is superb. I get a feeling of barren, emptiness, a lack of love, as if something has been torn away. It is beautiful in its utter cruel imagery. Fabulous! Well done best wishes mishmish | Written by brook_rivers (486 comments posted) 16th June 2006 | The emotion of nostalgia was very powerful in this poem. I felt the line 'singing like any slut of lust and rape' was meant to shock, and it did amongst the rest of the vocab in this poem! My favourite line was : 'with probing fingers turns to peek and pry'. I think in this 'wheel of love' you have succesfully portrayed every emotion and change that a realtionship goes through. Thanks for a great read! Brook
