Wheel of love sixth turning

Ending

Farewell

Now that we have been parted by
the first faint flicker of regret
we each shall find a reason to deny ,
a reason to forget.

From the simple filament of desire
I wove a cloak to cover the complex heart,
but now this love has lost its former fire
we two must part.

and yes, you will forget ,
but I will remember this:
that now to time we both shall owe a debt
unpaid , but for a half-remembered kiss.

Hi Patterjack

This is absolutely stunning. I loved the verse:

"From the simple filament of desire
I wove a cloak to cover the complex heart,
but now this love has lost its former fire
we two must part."

The filament suggesting the 'energy' that kick started the whole affair. It's beautiful imagery.

A lovely poem!

best wishes
