Remembering taly.
Tuscany, your flavors as scents from far away hills
Styles of food, wines in pageantry glasses of delight
Italy, land of love, passions, and glorious wondering
Women cooking, all around the love of beautiful living
Cuisine prepared with loving hands and caring kindness
Beautiful people , I am a traveling gourmet,feasting
So in love with everything, the taste ,the sip,,the music
A dream to my eternal soul, yet a reality of being
Painters brushes,pictures of masterpiece delights
My eyes see, with a heart and soul that feels clarity
Sweet beauty in the morning light, bright happy evenings
My love for you is in this day, this romance ,this Italy
Boun Appetito !

Tuscany Written by Josie (2796 comments posted) 1st July 2006 |
| I love your poem, and the beautiful words of description. I have a friend from Italy here, and she was so pleased to read your lovely words about her country. She said, though, (I've not made this up) - that Tuscany is much like Yorkshire in appearance. Of course the food is not cooked in the same way, but she is cooking Italian for us, and we are teaching her English cooking - and guess what! The most popular English dish for every Italian I have ever had stay with me (and there have been many) is - - - - - - scones, with apple crumble as a close follow-up. They go back to Tuscany and make them for their families immediately. ha ha. I have a beautiful poem describing a holiday (a few years back) and I will post it for your opinion now. ha ha |
A message from my Italian friend Written by Josie (2796 comments posted) 2nd July 2006 |
| I liked the poem very much, but I would like to know which part of Tuscany you have experienced because there are different parts of Tuscany. For example, north, south, east and west of Tuscany is different. Have you only visited Tuscany, or have you also visited other parts of Italy? Best wishes from a student from Udine. |
Tuscany in technicolour Written by Bottleblondesurfer (3369 comments posted) 2nd July 2006 |
This was one of the most vivid and senuous poems I have read. You hardly needed that last line, your love for the place was obvious in every well chosen word. You packed so much into just a few lines with an exceptional gift for expression.. I will probably come back to it when I want a blast of Tuscany again cheers BBS |

Tuscany is not a place I've been, but now, by reading your poem I have travelled and have savoured its wonderous delights. You have brought the place, the people and the feeling to vivid life. A truly superb piece of very atmospheric writing. Fantastica (my Italian is dodgy!!) well done...anyway! best wishes mishmish |
