Just A Life.
By Buchan

Within life many times we get lost.A poem to say we all get lost but there is a sense of truth that we always know.  It is just that we don't always find it.

In the spectrum of time numbers fall
We are counted like coins of the realm
Audits taken, many lives are not balanced
                 Computation unable to touch intelligence

Did the pirates of old steal the treasure
As we sailed the sea of hope and dreams
Knowing happiness is only outward glories
While love, goodness slept,in an old chest

Perhaps within this brief space of dearest time
                  A world meandering,counting it's gold and wealth
Many people with a life untold, a voice not heard
Rich in a counting house of truth and loving soul.

Thanks for your review.

We put great value on the things we get to measure but do we ever measure anything of "great" value?

You've done it again Buchan. An absolutely wonderful poem, laden with layer upon layer of visual imagery and intricate concepts.

I particularly loved the verse:

"Did the pirates of old steal the treasure
As we sailed the sea of hope and dreams
Knowing happiness is only outward glories
While love, goodness slept,in an old chest"

I enjoyed it's deep meaning, captured in the flowing words. The fact that we appear to be outwardly happy, but the things that make us happy i.e. 'love' and 'goodness' are often stolen from us before our eyes, as we tried so hard to achieve our dreams.

Really good writing...

best wishes
