Weathervane Unseen currents tease the arrow heads Coxcombed rooster dreams of wind
The mistral might bring cold Fleeing the dry tundra The ice plain
The Chinook leave the south behind Bring warm air, the sirocco, Harmattan
The east wind on starry nights Blow fresh through the spice lands Cool from the orient
A gust or squall or gale, Born in the blustering west, Scatter welcome rain
Who knows where the perfumed breeze begins That turns the weathervane? Unseen currents stir the arrow heads Silent rooster dreams of wind

Written by spiderbaby49 (137 comments posted) 20th May 2005 | Lovely observation. 'Coxcombed rooster dreaams of wind.' I like that...seeing the weather through the eyes of that ole rooster. 'The east wind on starry nights Blow fresh through the spice lands Cool from the orient' This falters a little because either wind or blow needs to be in plural as does scatter in this verse. 'A gust or squall or gale, Born in the blustering west, Scatter welcome rain' spidey
