Ants.
By BrianRobertNeal
08 July 2006
A little whimsicality.

I know that they get into everything, swarm all over the place. But they're very clean, neat, orderly and so hard working. You see them carrying things much bigger than they are.

I've often thought what I might have achieved if I could only show the same dedication to getting things done that they show.

Overall, I quite like 'em.

Great mouthfulls of 'em

But then I am an Aardvaark.

I see the expression "Aardvaark never killed anyone" doesn't apply to Ants!

Totally Silly

I like silly humour! It's easy and doesn't require much brain power. I need that kind of humour at the moment..

Great stuff...I'll send you a tuppaware of some prime specimens from my garden. I'm sure you'll enjoy them!

best wishes

Glad that you liked it.

The Ants were running all round the kitchen, and for some unknown reason I remembered a nature program I'd seen.

This Aardvaark had stood watching loads of Ants and then had just slurped most of them up with his tongue.

Before the slurp he had looked very philosophical so I tried to imagine what had been going through his mind.

All the food in my kitchen tastes of 'Raid' (Ant and cockroach killer), maybe i should explore some sort of aardvaark rental option.

Great little piece!

Thanks for your time and review, glad you liked the piece.

But Aardvaarks don't make very good pets.

They fart a lot, defecate all over the place, and only want to watch Big Brother on the telly.

I bought mine a big rubber Ant for it to play with. It wasn't in the least bit interested in it.

You can't take them for walks, play fetch, teach them to say things, or even commit bestiality with them.

However I'm told that regarding pest control you can't beat a Container Fresh Albanian War Criminal. Very cheap at this time of the year.

In the beginning was the word and the word was Aardvaark.
I think you and siddie are starting to mesh together this has all the hallmarks of that cheeky scamp. It's getting so you can't tell the two apart
A silly and funny piece and the perfect antidote to a boring sunday afternoon.
cheers

Very droll, BRN. Nice one!

They taste OK surprisingly. I tried some last year, with garlic and soy. Bit tough, but no fat.

Compliments of the chef.

TA,

Now regarding Ants, are they best "off the shell" ? Which are the best cuts? I hear that "leg of Ant" is a bit stringy.

Best seller perhaps....

Nice whimsical piece Brian. Incidentally BandQ are now selling Aardvaarks in their garening section. You have to be eighteen to purchase, and it is strictly one per customer. The offer ends in September when any unsold Aardvaark`s are sent back to the Aardvaark sanctuary in the Albanian foothills...

Thanks for your time and comments.

The trouble with Aardvaarks is how do you convince people that an Aardvaark is for life and not just the Ant infestation season?
What a twister

I love ants myself, I've often thought "How Industrious they are.", my favourite way of eating them, is covered in Chocolate.

I wonder what I'd have to be dipped in for them to enjoy eating me.
