It's the Thought that Counts
By brook_rivers

Your sights maybe set,
Your heart entirely charged,
But you can only do your best,
And if it all becomes too hard,
Remember that first fresh idea,
Be true to all your goals
And if it turns out to be unachievable,
And you don't strike the gold,
At least you took a shot,
At a million-dollar notion,
You can cherish that
As after all,
It's the thought that counts.

Brook, this is great...

It has an internal positiveness that drives through the poem, 'the thought that counts' always gets used for situations where the present is never enough to satisfy, but the fact the person thought was enough. You've taken this notion, turned it into action, it is the action that counts towards achieving the goal...not achieving the goal itself.

This is a great poem, as things in life don't always go to plan, but you have to use positiveness as a fuel for life, turn any negatives to positive, find good from bad, and always remember the journey is as good as the destination.

Great stuff...inspiring and very special..well done

best wishes

Very upbeat, and a great message.

The sort of thing that could even turn Frank Lampards frown into a smile...
