This is my second poem and its about a girl I'm in love with; Lauren. Shes really an amazing person and I love her loads. Shes my insperation!

This poem is about the first time I told her I loved her, which consiquently turns out to be the first time she breaks my heart.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading your reviews!!

As we engage in conversation, I find my mind a wash with thoughts of you,

Is this real? Are we actually together? Could this be true?

My forehead starts spitting sweat and my upper lip quivers,

I start tapping my foot and I start to shiver,

It’s the excitement that kills me; I don’t know what to say,

Now is the moment, now is my D-day.

I start talking, I get scared and start telling you how I feel,

I dread your reply, you seal

My fate with the painful truth,

That to you my love is no more than some childish youth,

It crushes me inside, to hear you say this,

Your final blow - a painful kiss.

I can’t stand your reaction; I descend from the heartache,

Your feelings for me looked so clear, that was my mistake,

How could I have been so wrong?

When my feelings for you are so strong,

I feel like an idiot, filled with embarrassment,

Anger, frustration and disappointment.

I've nearly been married 40 years now - yet it only seems yesterday that the words in your poem were in my mind also. Feeling rejected is hard tro take, but it is right: there are many other good fish in the sea. So, happy fishing, ha ha
