Magic Fingers and Thumbs
By cynicsid

I may have knicked this from Aristophenes

Uncle Siddie asked the kiddies, "How many fingers and thumbs have you got"

They all shouted out,"Ten"

"Well", said Uncle Siddie, "I'm magic and I've got eleven."

The kiddies replied, " No you've not"

Siddie yelled, "I have and I'll prove it,"

He showed one hand and starting with the thumb, he counted down,

ten,

nine ,

eight,

seven ,

six.

"How many fingers and thumbs are on my other hand?"

The kiddies answered "five"

"Right " asked Siddie, "What's six plus five?"

The Kiddies roared out, "Eleven"

"Told you so!" said a very satisfied Uncle sid.

That only works in and around Bishops Stortford where the hip cry on meeting someone is "Hey guy give me Six" It must be all the inbreeding
(actually I still haven't quite worked it out,has anyone got a slide rule?)

This is Great Writing Briansid, well done.

Keenly crafted and, most importantly, darned funny.

I like what you did with the counting bit.

The Siddian Anomaly

Thanks SW. This puzzle bewildered Pythagoras. He tehn started his counting down from 11 and found he had 12 fingers and thumbs.

He extrapolated to infinity and came to the conclusion that he could now prove that Infinity=8 fingers and 2 thumbs.

He then moved on to think about triangels which was probably a good thing.
