One day during a sunset in late winter I ventured outside. There was not much snow on the ground, it had just began to start coming down. It was so beautiful. The poem doesn't do it justice. Crystals on fire...
The wood becomes dusky, grass starts to grey
Beginning to rest for another day.
The sun carefully slow, lowers herself
She is unseen through thick laden clouds.
Then setting clouds afire appears the sun!
Snowflakes turn transeparent and like crystal.
Trees light up as gold, day is nearly done!
Birds shift through the trees, singing lullaby
Tired horses neigh then let out a sigh.
The vivid colors fade...daylight has died.

| I loved this poem! The imagery was great and it read really nicely (you have a thing about horses yes? hehe Me too). |

How could you guess gill? I love horses. I could use some training in riding though. |
The World of Nature Written by Josie (2849 comments posted) 3rd August 2006 |
| I love poems about the world of nature, which is so very beautiful. I am glad that other people see it as I do. I live in Wharfedale (Yorkshire), and am surrounded with so much beauty. I remember coming back from Lancashire one winter. There was snow on the hills and the sun was setting red in the sky. The hills were pink, the reservoir looked like blood, and across the fields you could see the road winding, with street lights shining - and the whole thing looked like a beautifully iced birthday cake. Look at some of my poems about the world of nature. Ode to the Bluebells is the most popular, but I like my "snow" poems. |
