I wrote this a while ago. I haven't really done much to edit it or anything. Just wondered what you guys thought of it in it's original form? I still will probably changed it. My book I do not plan on atempting to write till I am a bit older. I have the lay of it fixed out but writing a chapter book includes little daily life habits that I feel I am not ready for yet. So enjoy the history setting! And enjoy telling me how crappy it probably is.... Inscribed on an old leather book were the words The Beginning and under the title, the name of the auther and of which the information was taken ~Nordvin Twinbee~ information honostly taken from the scripts of old and what was passed down from generation to generation. Please pardon where parts are left out, for much of it was destroyed from the war. date –Age Of wars The Creatures of The Sea It started with the first dawn . . . rising over the fresh formerly unknown sea, setting out the first rays of light, gleaming brilliantly upon the first land. And in its quake flew a bird. At first it would have seemed to you and I an ordinary bird and since this was creation, an ordinary bird testing out its wings. But this was not so, indeed it was no ordinary bird. Its wings were gleaming silver and it appeared to be a bird of prey, sailing over the first waves shedding light just as the sun. Now it was noticeable that it had various items in its claws, in its left claw it carried sea-weed fresh and dripping, though not as though it had been plucked from the mighty ocean- for never had it touched the great waters, it was dripping with a sort of magic. And also that indeed it was not the normal seaweed but that in it was fish and snails, oysters and all the other things that litter the sea, as odd as it is the essence of whales and other larger prey of the oceans also abided in the water plant. The powerful bird let the plant slip from his mighty claws and it dropped into the ocean. It swirled down and down further in the depths and following it new creatures seemed to burst from it. Dolphins leaped and whales slowly swam about the watery depths. Fish shiny and new already swam away from pursuing prey that chased. Everything was purely overjoyed, already thriving. The Birds’s golden eyes showed a smile and darted, landing on a whale. All the sea-creatures gathered around- sharks side to side with dolphins and fish and the fish with snails and other small water-life on and around them. However he communicated is not known, but that he did and also set forth the ways of the sea to the many creatures that gathered around. He then let fly a small pebble and it skipped among the tops of the waves, everyplace it landed rocks spurted forth. Every creature looked with awe and respect at the mighty bird and then, understanding without even being told knew that it was time for The Bird to depart. They would never get over the creations of this bird, for he had made their very beings. The Beasts and Blessing of Moonor Then the bird winged himself toward the inwards of earth and dropped into the endless seas a clump of mud and it grew and grew . . . and grew into a huge island- a continent. Then the bird let go a plant, and it was not a normal plant but the mothers of all plants and from it sprouted fields of green following the mighty bird’s progress. He glided to the middle of the land which had nothing but sprouts of the first blades of grass and leafy plants. There he stopped in mid air, slowly spiraling down. He then breathed his eyes closed for a second and just before he hit the ground a tree spouted up with the bird on one of its branches directly. The tree developed till it reached a size more huge than the largest mountain ever to be on our earth. It was a breathtaking sight. The bird plucked the first leaf that had sprouted from the great and only tree and he breathed on the leaf, giving it life and shape. Birds flew from the leaf bowing and testing their wings upon the wind. Then, glad to see the cheery birds that floated around, and the beautiful greenery, he smiled though, whether it was really his mouth doing it or the stunning look in his eyes no one can be sure . . .for those eyes are catching and hard to take ones own from and more brilliant than the Sun itself. He just had to look into the air and as if summoned through an invisible portal and deer leaped out, bears charged, horses neighed, racing. All sorts of beasts were created, many that we do not have in our own world. Many of the animals leaped and chased each other but one lone white stallion came up to the Creator and lowered his comely head, bending his long white legs, he bowed. He paid his respects before any other beast had thought of it. The horse’s large oval eyes looked into the Creators with much trust and wonder. The Bird gave him a shining look that even though he didn’t say this it was as clear as daylight, "Why do you not romp with the other beasts, Moonor? For it is the only creation you shall ever have occurrence in and the only time you shall be safe around those who prey on the others." It was obvious though the Bird knew the answers the horse would give even though he asked. Moonor replied "I admire you, for you created me. I love you for you are my king, as well as the King over everything, and no better to spend the time we have with You, sire." The Bird looked on the stallion again, and it was evident Moonor greatly treasured that the Almighty would even gaze at him. "My dearest horse, you are very true with what you say, and I would love to give you a blessing, for you are wiser then the other horses and well deserve it. With that the bird gracefully dipped upon the horse, his one of his silver talons piercing through the soft flesh on the stallion’s middle-forehead. It didn’t hurt the bit for him and the horses’ expression remained. One drop of blood came from the wound and out of it a marvelous shining white crystal horn appeared, but no magic was yet with it, for that was to come later. Other creatures then came, paying their respects and some of them getting blessings, so came forth from this the Gryphon and Pegasus and many other beasts of magic, though now it was lacking. The Creation of The Elvish Kind And The First Wish The Bird stared over the beasts surrounding him and spoke one word, though it cannot be written for it is also like all words . . . beautiful and terrifying. And so came forth the elves, beings of perfection and beauty. The Bird looked to the elves all of them bowed to him their long, graceful figures bending to the Great Bird. "Dear beings, I give you the name of Elf, for great and beautiful shall your people always be so also children of the night. And all the races of beings shall be granted three wishes", and with that to everyone’s surprise and distress, for they did not like to see him take of any of his loveliness, he plucked three feathers and gave them to the Elvish leader. She turned them over in her hands delightfully, for they were tail-feathers, long and pleasing to the eye. Her hands were tinted the slightest silver and her hair was lengthy and flowing. She was a very elegant being and her smile reminded many of The Great Bird’s. As all elves her ears were longer than humans and came to a soft point. Many beings took up that habit of piercing but it is mostly a racal thing of the elves to tattoo –and indeed they are much more beatiful and thin than those you ever might see and often placed upon the face around/on cheeks or below the eyes and often times brow. She laughed, a sound of the first music, pure and harmonious, for holding the feathers gave her joy. She looked to her own kind and then back to The Creator, inquiring respectfully, "Sire, what is it about these feathers? For they seem to hold something that none of our words given to us can describe, something that makes up a greater part of you . . .or is it you are what is in essence in these?" "It is a word named Magic" he responded softly. The word seemed to inspire the elves and hung in the air. . .full of meaning and wonder. And it seemed as if it belonged to them, as if it was also a great part of their kind. "Sire, if it is not displeasing to you, could I ask for one of my wishes, one of out kind’s wishes to be that this thing be also for us? So we can please ourselves with the mighty use of this Magic." And then and there the elves were shed with magic, overflowing. And The Bird instructed them, in the use of all their abilities, and so he also instructed the beasts, and second he gave the Unicorn’s and Gryphon’s and all other creatures more exotic magic. So came magic into the world far away. There are many different kinds of magic, some more powerful some just for amusement but most being very helpful in ways of battle and everyday life. The Great Bird said "I now shall tell you, I go now to create other beings and also will give them three wishes. Yet also they are already created and yet also they shall soon be. Let not anything worry you, keep to the Order and everything will be. I now go to make other lands," he spread his wings out toward the seas, "And one of these lands shall have One that the elves fate lies with. You shall know when it is right to wish again. A young elf child said anguished that the Bird would leave, "When, please sir, when might You return, sir?" He rushed forward to the Creator. "When the time is right my dear child," an elven woman quickly leapt to take the child back but The Creator replied "Let the children come to me, for they are young, but shall upon a time be in my household" He gently set aloof the child’s shoulder and told him something in secret. The child beamed and walked to his mother. The Elvish leader (whose name was found to be Amorin {which is p. Ae-mor-in} for she was a child of the morning, of the first dawn.) said quickly, "Pardon me, but what shall we call you?" And just like the word said for the elves creation terrible, painful, yet beautiful, came the word from the Bird, except this word was so pure, so lovely, no being could ever come to the full of it. "‘Aterous’" (pronounced ah-tur-ous).Or as many shall come to know Aitrus (p. ae-trus). And He flew on. Sprouting up were he flew over trees and flowers and many plants that had not yet been created. Then he disappeared on the horizon.
