Second part of my history setting

The First Night

Though the elves were sad of Aterous’ departure they were full of anxiecness, for they felt that something very much part of them was soon to be. Something beautiful, something that would be a great part of the elvish kind. Indeed, they were right.

So it happened that the first sunset started, the fall of day and rise of night.

Queen Amorin watched intenesly puzzled at how the sun began to slowly lower and it is right to say she also understood this, though she knew it not, but felt it as animals apart from wisedom have instincs.

She gazed as the sky turned the most vivid colors ever to be in the setting. Azules were some bright, but others were a soft, comforting grey-blue. Purples were intertwined with the greying blues, some of it swirled with red and orange, becoming a lush, burning pink. While others got deeper and deeper changing to the brighter blues. Yellows were orginned around the fading sun as well as oranges. Reds were extreme and most slightly pink, though some were very light and delecate.

Amorin gasped at first as she saw this. . .but then sighed gently with a good feeling of contentment. But for some reason she wished that the sun would hurry up already!

As it got darker and darker. . .she wondered. . .what would happen when the sun died? Or was it just disapereing for the time? She watched till the sun was mostly gone. . .and stayed in the hours of mild twilight and it began to get very dark indeed. But it did not hamper her vision as most races. She though quickly of what Mighty Aterous had said. . .`So also children of the night`

And so it came to be a marvalous round circle -though much less bright than the sun though colored a bright white, silver –apeared and thousands of small white shining dots with it. She then knew that Aterous was with her.

He had just apeared there. . .silver much more than gold and even his eyes had changed. He seemed very wild and less like the Bird he had been in the day.

He gently landed of the Elves’ shoulder, leaning towards her face to gaze into her eyes. She couldn’t seem to keep contact for long though, for those silvery eyes now seemed so full. . .full of everything, joy and yet so much sorrow, she could not bare to see them now.

He leaned back and told her contently `Do you know what these lights are my child?

"Sir," She responded now feeling very wild and full of everything that she had been though that day "I know not, though I feel as if I should. . .dance (which happens to be something another race created had wished for! Pretty cool eh? )

. I feel as though I could leap of a cliff and take wing. . . ! As if I could run a thousand miles and not even know the difference. It is beautiful."
He flashed a smile `The biggest of these lights is called the Moon. It is indeed the greatest, but the smaller ones, the stars have order and everytime an elf and certain other creatures are born, a star shall appear. There is more, see how the stars have shape? How many of the are lined? Your star is in a constallation. . .part of something bigger.

"Where is my star?" She questioned amazed.

`Look, and you shall know when you see it Amorin.`

She gazed at the night sky then she noticed one star that seemed to call to her. . .it was a very odd sensation. "I . . .found. . .her.

He laughed softly. ` It is wonderful is it not?`

But she was speachless.

*I shall take this time to note that concerning stars there is indeed a way you can find yours. . and others too. It is called star reading something seers do to find out pieces of a beings life. For it is able to be told by which constallation it rests in where you will end up in your life. *

And so the night passed. . Aterous on the shoulder of Amorin till the Elf fell asleep. She woke up in the morning, feeling blessed and smiled as she saw a small breast feather of Aterous resting on her clothes. . .silver and gold in the sunlight.

How the Riders came to be-First wish of the Dragon-kind

Aterous, the great Bird came to make the Dwarves, Humans, Nymphs, Sytear, Orc, Tahien, Trolls and the many more races of that world, many more lands he formed, many more wishes he granted to the new races. A few days passed . . .it began and it was then he came to make the greatest of all Wind-serpents, which most are just as smart or smarter than beings. He called them Dragons, King and Queens of the flying wind-serpents. He granted them three feathers and told them how there kind was to be.

But the elves had made another wish- "Let us be with the ones Aterous has spoke of in our fate," They had chanted.

And so they saw Aterous again, and in front of them appeared the great Dragon leader. He was gold and fierce, as the Order for dragons had been set out he was found to be a battle dragon. This happens to be often the strongest and sturdiest and fit for head to head combats or wars of all the possible dragon kinds. He was also found to be a just and wise ruler, and so He was Gahnvize (p.Vih-zae), the King of Dragons.

The Dragon stared at the Elf leader, finding in her wisdom and guile a like. So he wished he could share a bond of magic with her, as all dragons that chose to be with another being. As all dragons are found to have a brilliant mind, and so without much thought he found that he had created the rules to riders and dragons even as he just made this simple wish.

He created the Riders, the elites, the might and alliance between being and dragon kinds. From then on he shared a bond with the elven queen, being able to communicate with her without really talking, like Aterous was able to do and her with him. But he was able to understand tongues – any language outloud spoken by someone- but also in the telepathic communacations the dragons had no language existed.

Dragons could telepathically talk to anyone, as could beings if they had magic. And so it was that dragons in the seven year period they had till they hatched could be born earlier if they found who they wanted. A dragon would share his magic with his rider, so that if one of them became weak they could pull on another willingly. All dragons have magic, though not beings always, so if the being was without magic they would gain it if they became a rider.

And from then on the dragons found someone they wanted to be their rider either when they were still in the egg and would have to hatch soon to see their rider or they had come to the end of the seven years and hatched out of need. They shared a part of themselves with that being . . . almost as if the two was one sometimes. Some dragons chose solitude without a rider but most wanted one.

The Final Wish of The Elves

One day when Amorin and Ganhvize were basking in the sunlight by a newly found river, which one of the races had wished up recently. Amorin remarked mourned, `One of the Elves died today, he was one of them created older. It is said if a being gets too old he dies.`

`Yes, that’s how it is for all races, pardoning us Dragon’s for we are stronger than time.`

`I don’t want my kind to die, it is not a thing that should happen to us, what will you do when I get old and you are still young? I wish not to do that to you, Vize`

`There’s always the Last wish, Amor. . .but it seems like it would be cheating life itself. .`

`I don’t want to leave you alone Vize, I will do it, I will wish for . . . I will wish to never die from age.` She stood up looking at the beautiful feather she had pulled from her coating and now held in her hands.

`Should not you discuss this matter with you people first though?` He said surprised. `After all, its their lives you’ll be changing too.`

Amorin sighed, thoughtfully, `I don’t think I need to though, after all I am their queen and know best . . . do I not?`

`I have given my advice. Of course you are the Elf Queen and your job is to lead your people and try to make the right decisions for them if you feel the need. So I shall step out of the way` He moved one of is legs as showing her the way was clear. But she could feel his rebuke and it stung her odd. Against his detesting she wished for immortality and she felt it . . . yes she felt the change.
The peace was disrupted in the elves main settlement named Cilicia. It had come to be a beautiful town that surrounded the great Tree they called Fate for indeed the tree was found to have symbols foretelling of Aterous coming and creating the Elfvish Kind and how they got intertwined with the Dragons.

All the Elves and Dragon Riders felt the difference. For some reason the elves also felt they had lost something. . .but many were overjoyed and a celebration began that very day. Music and poetry and great gatherings assembled the streets. Dragons made shows of fire and magic as did others. Feastings and many fun games that were made up decorated thousands of houses and stores. It was a day that was to be long remembered.
