The third part of my lovely history setting. The Five Races Meet Their once came a day when it was time for five of the races to meet, which consisted of the Dwarves, Humans, Nymphs, Elves and Dragons. It was to be a formal meeting between the leaders of these that is, for the races would not mingle for a few months most likely and so the tale follows: It was a foggy day at first, that is till High King Aterous appeared to Queen Amorin. He proclaimed that it was time for some of the races to meet, and that it was to be at a place not far off the oceans from each one. There was to be up to 30 of each race aloud to come to the meeting. Aterous’ golden eyes glimmered with amusement for a shy moment. "Make haste and be ready tomorrow, for I shall teleport the dwarves first and they are not a patient people my dear Elf!" And so Amorin chose people to come with her, most just for representing the elves- though some were for guarding. King Gahnvize took 5dragonriders with him and 20 lone dragons of guard and high position. The Bird came, appearing as lovely as ever on the head of Vize. Even on the mighty head of a dragon he did not seem small or less fierce, if anything all the more. "It is time my Children" And so they were transported to the island much, much, later to be called Neveren. They saw they were the last race to be ported there and made observation of the others. The Nymphs were small cheery people around the size of 2-3ft. They were in leaves and green and yellow silk dressage. Very fine bodied and the one who must be there leader was wearing a golden crown shaped as a oval of leaves circling his brow. He was merry and jousting with things to say to the other Kings and Queens. ‘The endearing ones’ she had once heard to be said of them. But first it must be noted to make observation of the place they were at. It was a grand palace. . .marble floors smooth and lightly colored. Walls were made of different items such as Jade and silvers. Furniture was made of trees of a deep redbrown shade, and others of silver or gold, and other fine ores. The building was big enough to hold thousands of dragons it seemed, or perhaps it was endless… The ceiling was inscribed with many different lovely pictures of dragons battling odd assortments of beings and also of a female elf putting down a crying baby near a circus. One was of a treachorous looking black male dragon with sinister eyes and reflected in the eyes was a heart. . .it was all very odd and though it seemed the longer you looked at them they became more and more real, moving and dancing. . .some were simply still but looked like it was something happening right in front of you. All very vivid and though many times seemed scary, amazing and beautiful. It was the palace of things to be. . . The Castle with no way in or out less the Creator invites you. . the Castle of Future and Past. Then she drew her attention away from the building, for indeed it was something you could look at for eternity and never bore of. Amorin noted the Nymph King’s eyes were a catching green (as is most common among the kind) but glinted with glee and his wear consisted of a green silk pants, with a belt of delicate looking ivy. His footwear was soft greened leather. He seemed impressed and a bit fretful of the dragon’s mountainous size and surprised of the lengthy elves. He would have kneeled and taken the elf-queens hand and given her a kiss on her diamond- silver ring (which had been given to her as a gift acknowledging her queen.). But he was to short for that considering she was 7ft and he was 2 and a half! He gave a elegant bow and she repeated the greeting in the elven way. Which is done by pulling you index and middle finger over you eyes the tipping the palm of your hand (your hand is actually spread out as if you where slapping something or giving a high-five) to the sky (note that you fingers are not touching your eyes but a few inches away) This is a sign that you are paying attention with your eyes and brain while at the same time it is also a sign of respect (tipping your palm to the heavens) "I believe it is someone named Queen Amorin the wise and King Gahnvize the courageous that I make this acquaintance with"? "Quite so, though I have not had the pleasantry on getting to hear what you are called by your people." "Ahh", a rough but sweet and female voice assumed "I see you have meant my dear friend Nordvin." She was a dwarf, around 4ft. Her eyes were a white-brownred and glowed with responseability but also with delite. She gave a rough dwarven greeting- which is done by the shaking of the others hand oposite to you- the Queen responded to this on sharp alerts- not knowing anything of the ways of the other cultures-hailing her in the Elf way but also slept into the handshake. "I am Isilda Doreag Stonehazel (dore-ee-ag) leader of my people", she swept her hand in direction towards the other dwarves. Taking time to notive what the dwarf and nymph looked like better the queen relized how odd their figures were conpaired to the Elves. Isilda was very fit for her kind and good looking, muscles bulged, her hair was a light blond-grey-white, going well with her eyes. Her figure was not fat but very stout. Her skin was ragged and bumpy , colored a dark tan. Compared to the fair soft, silvery skin Amorin and most Elves have. The dwarf had very rounded features- nothing seems sharp. Her nose was well rounded, and her chin and jaw bones didn’t stick out at all. Her eyes seemed too have a fire in them, noting the red in them to make it even more pronouced. "My name in full MiLady," He flirted , for that was just like the kind of gnomes to do so, "Is King Nordvinee Gornashu Sprighty the jolly or merry as callled among the people but I wouldn’t mind such a fair Queen as yourself just calling me Nordvin as our lovely darling Chief o’ the dwarves does!" He had large muscles but only when he moved. His skin was a light tan , it was rare, very rare to see a Nymph blush so no one really cares to explain it because its usually in the most romantic of situations, such as asking ones hand in marriage or possably in mid-battle when there lit on fire so-to-say. His hair was very short with a mustache and colored red. His ears were quite the oposit of the Elves for they were small and very rounded. Amorin herself had sharp features, pronouced jaws but a small nose and chin. She had muscles but not as this female dwarf. Her hair was black and her eyes beautiful casms of blue. She was very fair indeed, and though the nymph (or gnome we might say sometimes) had no attraction to her though he did enjoy to get in his flirts- but as she responded, amused by the couple of friends the two made "Why I shall have to take you up on that offer dear Nordvin, as you may call me simply Amorin" Her lifting soft voice had been heard by the human Lord, Gregourey, as most humans of lower rank and higher self asteem were and always will be he was enchanted by the elf and went to join the conversation. "Pardon me for intruding on your conversation in but I do wish to make aquatience with such a fair lady as this. I am Lord Gregourey, brother of King Hilary the Just as well as his high councelor. I might say to you kind Queen you are quite more like humans than the rumors declare, but none the less fair." "Very pleased to make your aquaintance, Lord Gregourey. We", she said making a gesture towards the Dwarf and Nymph, "were just passing names around anyways. I am Queen Amorin of the elves, and I believe we have neglected to introduce the King of the Dragons to you" `I don’t like him at all,` Amorin said softly to Vize`He seems greedy and wanting` `I`, said Vize out loud to all `Am King Ganhvize Firesbreed Fate` `Could I agree more Amorin? Not the least bit more. .he is not a very good example of the humans we can only hope` `Who is that over there? See? In the blue, he has a crown of gold otop his head` `It must be Hilary` remarked Vize. King Hilary must have noticed the eyes of the Elf and Dragon straying from the conversation for he lifted his hand in greeting to them and came over. "Sorry I would have come instantly but for I was helping my people. I am King Hilary Stevens Bandour" He bowed politly. "I believe it is the Elven Queen as well as Dragon King I take honor in adressing?" `Quite so King Hilary, and it is an honor to adress one as you` Gahnvize’s voice stregthened out into the room. "Aye", the Queen Amorin agreed respectfully, "I was wondering if we might discuss how the wishes have been spent so far among the kingdoms, for it is a topic I’ve come to have a peculiar interest in." Nordvin agreed, "Just what I was wondering upon myself! It has indeed come to my interests who came up with some of the peculiar things going around" Queen Isilda laughed "Well indeed if one of the peculiar things you have thought of be the crafting of weapons in ores of beauty many of us wear now that would be us dwarves!" "Us humans came up with writing but also that . . ." Hilary trailed of shamed it seemed. Lord Gregourey finished proudly " I wished with the feather also that we shall be the greatest of all races! The ones that shall make up the most of cities, that shall always prevale!" "Though," he added almost sadly "Our great King dislikes this much." "Also, our last wish though," King Hilary said with pride "Was that we also might become dragonrider, to join the order." "Well our race has only spent 2 wishes, for we cannot think of aught else we wish, for we Wished for Magic. . .and to be apart from time- I know not if there is another word. . ." "Aterous! You have come. . .everyone slipped into respectful greetings" Gregourey was slow to continue his greeting and seemed upset over who knows what. `IT which you speak of my child is called Imortality, and the humans are yet still mortals, though be it if they become riders yet that may fade. The dwarves shall most likely prevale lest they fall in battle for they wished for long lives and hardness to ill. The dear Nymphs also wished for Poetry and also for enternal or long lives. Though they specified it not. And The nymphs have one last wish, though I think they shall spend it soon` He seemed very sad, and amazingly enough like and old being. . .weary to the bone. `Kind, Aterous what ills you? Or are you just upset over the tides of wishes?` It was very odd to hear the strong male battle dragons voice show so much concern and respect. The others looked quite worried also. `It is a wish, a wish one of my children have made unwisely. . .the race of the trolls they have brought evil into this world why it lays yet so young and new. . .an evil that is hard to bring to rest and evil that prevales through ends of times an evil that is Named Not, for no word can descibe it! An evil that bends not to any amount of strikes. So they wished for Dark Magic, and a high Mage to lead them though it, for they knew I would not assist in this.` They felt all of a sudden freezing. . even there hearts seemed like a cold slowing organ in there bodies. Bumps rose on the races, even the Elf Queen. Gahnvize roared seemingly terrified and angered. Norvids cheery smiles faded and his face was as ash. Yet, it was very odd to notice the only being unoffected like one of these was Lord Gregourey, who stood silent and sinister. The others did not seem to notice the surely human smiling in the corner of the room. . .laughing in his eyes with pure hate and treachory. Then a seen came anew from the pictures. .it was one of Lord Gregourey holding a dagger to kill his king in the night. . .it was very vivid and terrrfying. Everyone gasped and Aterous’ eyes targeted Gregourey for the first time. Gregourey leaped away from them- charging down the hallway screaching of murder and false. Aterous alighted on his wings dropping after the wicked Lord and pounded him to the ground with his wings aflutter. His claws digged into Gregoureys soft, human flesh, his beak holding an ear. `This is also what I new to be . . .and it indeed is a very sad happening. But treachorous deeds shall now be a normal part of life. .for there is no stopping it now though I wished it to never be. But I shall not murder you, wicked man, but exile you to live with those who take part in treachory, for that is law.` The Bird seemed to cover the man with his delecet wings, and when he lifted them up, Gregourey had vanished.
