My Mummy and Daddy Told Me
By maipenrai

anger,frustration

My Mummy and Daddy told me
that I must never ever
hate people because that is bad,

My Mummy and Daddy told me
that because people are different from us
that does not make them bad,

My Mummy and Daddy told me
that all over the world
there are loads and loads of good people.

but

My Mummy and Daddy are dead now
and My little Brother and Sister
and I am alone since the
Soldiers Left.

A moving poem with depth. I really enjoyed this. I particularly liked the way you used repitition in 'loads and loads' , 'hate hate..' , 'kill, kill' and 'nasty, nasty' . Aside from the obvious use of mummy and daddy, it helped the poem's style, in constantly reiterating that it was being written by an angry young child.
Well done.
thanks

As always, a great piece of work. I think the passion you get into your work stems from real feelings. I know you say you're not affected by what you've seen but, I wonder.....?
thanks
